First, HUGE THANKS for getting airfare booked - we're all on flights and in rental vehicle pods for Nationals! Here are the next steps:

1. Please double-check the information in the Air Travel planning spreadsheet:  Air Travel to Nationals 2022 to make sure it's correct, and add your cell # next to your name.

2. Hotel rooms have been reserved at the Best Western Premier Richmond City on Commerce Rd. I will be changing the reservation for chaperones & parents to a room block on Monday and will let you know when to call and assign your name to a room. Captains will work with players on room assignments this weekend.

3. Volunteers - All parents attending, please sign up this week to help if you are able. We're looking for a few chaperones, food planners, first aid providers & a sports announcer:  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050F45ABAD28A46-crush

4. Parents not attending, email Julia Schmelzer with your cell number(s) to be included in a group text to receive game highlights throughout the event.

Crush Players & Families - We are trying to move quickly on all travel plans for Nationals.  If you are going for sure, you can start your planning NOW.  Here is the plan so far:

1.  Airfare - We need all attending players* & parents to book your own airfare ASAP to get the best rates/flights.  We are working on reimbursement plans, so please book now and we will reconcile with trip fees afterwards as funds allow.  *If a player is unable to book their flight on their own due to financial concerns, please call or text Edie Mcgurgan for assistance at 952-270-8252.

• The most affordable airfare options are flying directly to the DC area or Raleigh/Durham and driving 2.5 hours to Richmond, VA.  There are three major airport options in the DC area (IAD, DCA, and BWI).  There are flights directly into Richmond on American or United with one-stop, but they are quite expensive.  Most of the travel options in the planning spreadsheet were assembled through Orbitz. They find lowest cost one-way tickets and build the round trip using more than one carrier.  If you're interested, It's easy to set up an account and you can add your loyalty program numbers.

• Given tight timing, varied schedules, and limited seating, we have decided to create 6-7 pods for traveling where there is an adult with a rental car able to transport multiple players to/from the airport and the fields once in Richmond.  A Google Spreadsheet is linked below with the flight options and pods that have been created so far.  Once you book your flight, add your name to the corresponding pod on the spreadsheet and enter the word "Booked" next to your name.

• If you are a parent going to Nationals that would be willing to create a pod, please add it to the spreadsheet or call Kate McDonald for help adding it to the sheet.  WE ALL NEED TO BOOK OUR AIRFARE ASAP!

2.  Hotel - A block of 17 rooms has been reserved at the Best Western in Richmond at the cost of $133 + taxes per room per night.  Room assignments will be made later.  This is not quite as time-sensitive as the airfare and will be covered in detail later this week.
